It
seemed that all the shops in Quartzsite had closed down early. Ha!
We didn't remember that it was an hour later in AZ! We headed for
the water station in the La Posa South LTVA (Long Term Visitor Area)
to fill up our holding tank and then pick out a place to park. It
was getting pretty dark by then. The next day we paid the ranger
$25 to stay up to 14 days.
There
are places around Quartzsite to stay in the desert for nothing but
then you can't fill your holding tank with water or use the dump
station. We stayed in La Posa South LTVA for five nights boondocking.
Boondocking is staying on public land (BLM) with no hookups.
We
toured the RV Show tent, and checked out a couple RV supply stores,
picked up a couple unabridged books on tape, bought a new toilet
for the house and investigated some folks that were flint knapping.
We definitely run into some interesting people.
The
weather was great while we were there, warm days and cool to cold
nights, but after five days Fran was ready to head for some hookups.
