Collins Lake Resort Welcomes Evacuees

Our Home at Collins during the flood of 1997

The welcome mat was out at Collins Lake Recreation Area for valley evacuees who needed to head up the hill and camp out for the duration of flood danger.

The folks at Collins opened their gates 24 hours a day for anyone who needed a space and approximately 1000 people took advantage of the offer. They asked nothing for the camp space and asked only a donation for electricity.

The entire Collins crew was called in. They were cheerful and happy to register campers, answer questions, distribute telephone messages and, of course, the ordinary duties involving restroom cleaning and garbage disposal.

All of the folks who took refuge at Collins would like the crew to know that their efforts were greatly appreciated.

This is a photo of our Owners & Crew at Collins Lake.

The crew includes: Bob Young, M.J. Young, Lincoln Young, Kathy Hess, Bart Young, Cliff Page, Jennifer Lawson, Roberta Ingraham, Avery Lanigan, Heather Teagarden Eric England, Robert Palma, Theresa Palma, Mike Butler and Masako Butler.

Thanks, guys!
